Frequently Asked Questions

How does a Wedding Illustrator work? Throughout the day I will be set up either at one desk or multiple depending on if the venue changes throughout. I will draw the guests either live or from specifically requested photographs taking approximately 7-10 minutes per solo illustration or 12 minutes for couples. This service works particularly well during the pre dinner, and the drinks reception. I am capable to work either live or from photos, allowing me to provide you the most value possible in the hired time, without drawing guests away from the other festivities.

How many hours should I book? I take approximately 7-10 minutes per solo illustration depending on how detailed the outfit is. Couples take about 12 to 15 minutes. I can draw approximately 6 solos or 4/5 couples an hour. I do also have a different style where solos take 4-5 minutes and couples take 8-10 minutes. This style I recommend for larger weddings. Drawing appropriately 12-15 people an hour.   I recommend 4 hours for weddings with 40 guests, 6 hours for weddings of 60 guests, 8 hours for 80 guests, and 10 hours for weddings with 100+ guests. I can also offer to bring along an assistant or another illustrator for an added charge. Please enquire if you wish to know more about this to ensure more people are drawn within the time. Not everyone may wish to be drawn, however I would use the number of guests expected as a useful guide. I can also create specific tokens for your main guests or family, to ensure those people are definitely drawn during the time. If on the day more people wish to be drawn outside of the booked time I am happy to work additional hours or take photos to be drawn and sent to you at a later date at a cheaper rate of £150 an hour, this way everyone can be drawn and have a wedding favour to remember your special day.

How to book a Wedding Illustrator? Simply fill in the enquiry form below with your date, the location if known and how many hours you were thinking of booking.   I will be in contact after your enquiry for a free virtual consultation to answer any questions and understand more about your wedding.   Afterwards, I will require a deposit and then we may have another meeting either in person or virtually closer to the event. The final invoice will be sent a month prior to the event, to be paid by a week before.

My wedding is abroad: are you able to travel? I love to travel! I am a holder of a Finnish and UK passport so I am able to travel and work within the EU very easily. I have worked all over the UK as well as the Middle East in Kuwait and Qatar for various events.   All accommodation and travel would need to be covered, but all can be discussed after your first enquiry.

What would be required for the day? Just a table and chair! This can either be a temporary table or one incorporated into the venue. Guests can stand to be drawn and I don't require them to stay still whilst drawn, however if you have any older guests it may be worth having a chair for people to sit on as they are drawn.   I will also need the table to be in decent lighting. If you know the venue will be dark, I can bring a light - I would just need prior knowledge and a plug socket.   I can also draw outside, I just cannot draw in the rain so a possible raincover may be worth having just in case.

How much does a Wedding Illustrator cost? I illustrate between 4 hours and 10 hours a day for a wedding. 4 hours costs £1000, 5 hours costs £1200, 6 hours costs £1400 7 hours costs £1600 8 hours costs £1750 9 hours costs £1900 10 hours costs £2000 Another option would be I take pictures of the last guests that wish to be drawn and illustrate them at home normally within a week after the wedding. This would be done at £150 an hour as it’s not drawn live. this way every guest can be drawn.
